Anyone have a Whirlpool gas water heater? If so do you have trouble keeping the pilot light lit? We recently returned from our honeymoon to find a busted water heater in our garage. I went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool, the exact same as my parents had bought two months earlier and have not had a problem with. Ours is horrible! The pilot light will not stay lit. I called Whirlpool and they advised me to replace the regulator. I did this and it worked fine for about two weeks. It has now started to go out once again. I am calling Whirlpool once again when I get home from work b/c it's still under warranty. Any one have this problem???

In my area, I know installers that put these in for Lowe's. Nothing but problems with these water heaters.

I won't even install one for fear of something coming back on me. :(

One thing to mention, did you do a draft test on this water heater to determine proper draw up the flue at time of install?

Minimum requirements by most local inspectors is 300 fpm's. (Feet per Minute)
