I looked thru the spec's and kind of assume that the valve specs would be the same for all cast engines but didnt see the 400000 series, 18HP L head twin II listed. Is it the same as the rest? Int and Exh. I could use the head bolt torgue and sequence if available.

I looked it up and they offered the OM but you need to buy the Serv manual I think. I looked up the codes you posted on here in the stick's but it only goes to 300,000 and not the 400,000 series. Are these all the same for valve clearances? Its a Model 42A707 The only thing I really need is the lash specs and head torgue.

Time to drag the valve grinder out and vace the stem ends off a bit. They were down to 002 cold on some of them and it was losing power when it got hot. We checked everything else and that became about the last resort. 6 and 9 is what it will be then. I ordered head gaskets from an outfit called Jakes Small engines I found on the net. My auto parts jobber carries some of it but they were pricey on some stuff on occasion. I was wondering where some of you got parts from.

I use wholesalers and there is a large parts distributor in my town that gives me an exceptional discount.
