I am trying to extend the drip edge on a shed so the gutters catch the water off of the roof. I have vinyl gutters and a vinyl drip edge extender. The trouble is that the drip edge is supposed to be fastened under the shingles but to drive the nails I have to pull up the shingles to the point where they pull out off of the staples attaching them to the roof.
Any help would be appreciated...
thanks

Get the metal drip edge that will stick out the 1" slip it under the shingles there and just put couple of nails in it down on the Fascia side. That will hold it. Good luck with the vinyl gutters they dont work or hold up to long. Sure dont like ice and cold.

Some people call this "D" metal drip.

hi
there call d strip.
as for extension only an 1 if your roof is not much of a pitch in it the ice will get in the gutter and work it way back up under the shingle.
In that case i would recommend an apron.
it like the drip edge but it has more than 24 in above that goes under the shingles.
so the ice has no way of getting under or you could used heat cable to melt the snow and ice buildup
cheers
