Hi everyone,
I'm planning to build a castle in my backyard. It'll be for the grandkids to play in and for evening get-togethers by the fireplace for us, too. I lack any real concrete/stone experience and I'd appreciate any advice on (1)where to get stone or the fake concrete stone cheap (or how to make my own concrete blocks that look like stone), and (2)how to construct it solidly. I'd, of course, like to have the drawbridge, portcullis, and all that, but I'm a Navy engineer and I can figure out that part. I just want to make sure the walls themselves will turn out solidly enough to be 12 feet high and support a two story keep (for the grandkids to view their domains from, and to camp in when they're old enough). They're only babies now, so I have some time to work on this. Thanks, Dan
