I have a very long hallway (20') and I would like to break it up. Currently there's nothing there but bare hardwood floors. I would like to get a runner (though it's hard finding one long enough). I also would like a console table (for keys, mail, etc). I found a console table I like. But, I wondered what would I do when I get a runner. It seems that the front legs of the console table would be on the rug, and the back legs would be on bare wood, which would make it wobbly. Do I have to settle for one or the other? (that is, console table or rug?)

Thanks!

You could use the felt pads that go on furniture (usually chairs) and put them on the back legs. Could even stack them if necessary. You may even find a felt tip marker (kids coloring kit) that matches the color of the table. Good luck with your project.

yes, you can have both! do what majakdragon said, or you may even be able to remove something from the bottoms of the front legs - depending on the table.

build up the back or remove from the front - whatever it takes!
