I looked at this product & color yesterday myself. Just watched the Pergo DIY video and I think my husband and I can manage to do it! I'd also like to know what the difference is between Vintage Home & Select. Pergo's brochure doesn't give much technical information, and even their website doesn't tell a lot. We're installing over vinyl tile on a concrete slab and wondering if we should choose a product with preattached foam or if laying the poly & foam ourselves is less costly. Would love to hear from someone who's done this.

I researched Pergo quite a bit but ended up with a different brand. The Select is slightly thicker than the Vintage and is much more durable--AC5 versus AC3. This would make the Select the most durable of the Pergos. The Vintage, however, looks much more realistic and has a better selection of colors, in my opinion.
To get more info., you might try going to websites that sell laminate to see what details they have on the particular Pergos--try fastfloors.com or ifloor.com or internetfloors.com, for instance.

Select is TOP SHELF. Only a few other laminates sit on that same shelf.
Personally, I like the attached cushion. It takes more of the hollow sound away. I'd say 75% reduction in the hollow noise when walked on.
