Lighting, Light Fixtures, Ceiling and Exhaust Fans - flood lights

I changed flood lights on my back wall and reused the motion detector that was on the old one .It was working before.The new lights had two black and two white wires .The motion detector had a red and a white wire.I connected all the black and red together and tied in with the black wire from the switch . I put all the white together and connected to the white from the switch.I turned on the switch and the lights come on but I cant get them to go off and come on automaticly.I tried switching the lights off and on but they still wont go out when the switch is on. I dont have the directions .What am I doing wrong.

White should go to white.
Black from switch to black on motion sensor.
Red from motion sensor to two blacks from light.
