I wrote a thread a couple weeks ago about no pressure in my sinks, the aerator corrected that problem. Now there is little pressure in one of the showers upstairs. The hot water is really bad, but the cold isnt up to par either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Is this a single handle shower control, dual handle control, Tub/shower combo with diverter valve?

It is a single handle, you pull a knob to change from tub to shower, hope that helps

I would think it is a cartridge problem. You will have to turn off the water supply and remove the handle to get to the cartridge. Remove it and replace or get repair parts (replacement is not too expensive and less work.) OR you can pull the cartridge and while someone stands at the tub, turn on the water supply( quickly) and then back off. This may flush out anything that is causing the restriction. Have rag over the opening when turning the water on. Check the cartridge for anything apparant while you have it out. Good luck and post backl.

Thanks, but I dont know what the cartridge is. Is there a place where I can get a diagram or could you please try and explain. I have taken the knob off already, just not sure what is the cartridge? Thanks

Not sure what kind you have but this link should help you to disassemble it.

Just a thought, but how old is the house, and do you have galvanized, copper, pvc, or what type of water piping?

The house is only about 8 years old. I would guess it is PVC pipes, not sure though. It seems to be more the hot water and it now it is almost like my kitchen sink is losing hot water pressure. It is like it is going from faucet to faucet. HELP

I just wanted to thank everyone for their help. All is well with my shower/tub now. I finally did flush the hot water haeter and figured out how to flush the lines at each faucet and they were clogged up. Hopefully it will all be good now, thanks again
