Does anyone have any how-to information for construction of a roman tub?

i.e.

I've heard people mention everything from vinyl pan liners, hot mopping and hand-laid fiberglass to Laticrete 9235 (supposedly this was used in The Venetian hotel of Las Vegas' mosaic bathrooms) and Kerdi... but it was all somewhat unspecific / speculative..

Anyone have experience with this type of build?
