I have an Electric forced air furnace with an outside air inlet directly into the cold air plenum. I am undecided asto what I should do with this, either put in an air exchange system or a damper system to open only when the thermostat calls for heat, or both. my furnace runson low fan 24-7, year round.
I live in a cottage area about 120 Kms north of Winnipeg on Lake Winnipeg.
My home has a pony wall and crawl space. I run the furnace steady as it heats the crawl space in the winter and keeps it dry inthe summer, while giving an even temperature most of the time.
Would putting in a damper lower my costs by saving power?
Would adding the damper cause a build up of moisture on in my home?
Would a heat exchanger help on its oun?
Does anyone out there have the plans for a simple air exchanger?
