I have a GE Electric Heat pump system. What's the best way I can keep the coils clean in the inside unit and not have to pay $150 to have them cleaned?

if you can access the coil, brush off any surface buildup then use a light detergent, spray it on, and rinse thoroughly

Another way to keep it clean is filtration. Make sure all the air goes through the filter and none bi-passes it.

Like said new filter 30 to 90 days up to a MERV 5 filter. There are spray coats that you can get and put on light on the intake side of the filter before you put it in. This is where you start to keep the coil clean.
