Kenmore Whispertone Vacuum brush stopped rotating

My Kenmore Whispertone vacuum brushes have stopped rotating. After it stopped rotating and I took the vac brush assembly apart and cleaned the brush supports. Unfortunately that did not do the trick. The motor seems to run fine with all the filters clean.

Did you take the top cover off? it could be the belt. If it is, and doesnt work, it is slipping off.

Actually the motor for the brushes is dead. It is from water intrusion via a flood in February 2004. Around the brush motor there is a lot of rust. So I got to decide if I want to pay $70+ for a new brush motor or just get a new vac.

I have disassembled the brush and discover that I need a new bearing, felt and cap. From the parts list I have, it appears you have to buy the complete brush. Where can I pick up parts?
