Last winter our humidifier began chattering. Traced it to solenoid/valve. Installed a new solenoid/valve. Still noisy. Thought water temp (very cold) might affect it. This summer,in conjunction with water heater replacement, had water supply switched to hot. Chatters when it feels like it, with or without furnace running. Must be possessed. Am guessing it has to be a transformer somewhere or the humidistat on the living room wall. Any insight???

You can check the wall humidistat push it all the way up or take and jump it and see if it stop's. Also what turns it on when the blower comes on a A-50 or relay down there?? check that end out also.
