Hello,
I have lived in my house almost 6 years and this is the first problem I have had with my hot water boiler. The pressure gauge is not showing any pressure being built and when the the boiler is firing and I can hear water running through my baseboards. The house is getting warm, but it seems like the boiler is running longer. I have never had this until this year, we did have to replace our water heater recently, i'm not sure if this has anything to do with it our not, I am a novice at this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you bleed the air from your baseboards? You may be heating air.

No I did not bleed the air from the base boards, any information on how you do that, I really don't know a lot about the system, and I don't have any instructions for the boiler, also would that have anything to do with the boiler not showing pressure?

There should be air vents on each baseboard. Most I have seen look like a tire valve and some have a little key that you insert and turn until water comes out instead of air.
Air can be compressed, water cannot. Air in the system will not show pressure. If you can hear water running in the baseboards then you have air. Good luck.

Some bleeders have like a little screw that you just crack open some till you get air then water out of them. Look around there by the boiler. There should be a red or green like bell and right next to it there a PR valve that goes off at 30 psi. Now there should be the auto fill valve to let water into the boiler and fill it to 15 psi. You sure this works. Water to it is turned on. if you dont get water out of the bleeders. Check the fill valve for sure. Could they have turn it off when they worked on the H/W heater

I remember seeing the red bell on the backside of the heater. I will have to check, they didn't shut off the water supply to the boiler when our water heater went out, the only thing it effected I think was turning the gas off shut off the pilot light on the boiler, but I got that restarted. So I guess I will start with seeing if I can find the valves to bleed the air from the lines, there is definately some water in the lines cause I can hear it running different spots in the house, and it is putting off heat.
