I'm trying to put the plinth blocks at the bottom of my doors and am finding that my door jam and wall are not even. What can I do about the warped boards not being flush with the wall so I can install my blocks, base moulding and door casing? I would appreciate any comments or suggestions, I'm on the clock for finishing this house to move into. Please help...

If the wall is out, can't you just cut an angle on the bottom molding to meet the top of the plinth? If the wall is out too bad, you can always shave wood off othe bottom of the plinth, so it meets the floor.

I don't know exactly how to explain it. Mental picture...when I set the block into place against the jam, there is a gap behind the block where it should touch the wall, between the block and the wall. On others it's reversed, the gap is behind the block on the jam side. I can't figure out how to level it out. Can I cut the door jam without destroying the door? If so how do I level it on the ones that are out of level the opposite way? Thank you for answering my questions. If I took a picture of it, could I attach it somehow so you can see what I'm talking about?

If you have Yahoo, you can make a photo album and put the link in here.
