Hi - My sister recently bought a pro-style range at an estate sale. The inside of the stove label says its natural gas but my husband says that the hookup "looks" like its for propane. Is there a way to tell if the stove has been modified by just looking at it?? Thanks!

Hello kathfarr and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances topic.
Looks can be deceiving and is not the way to determine if the appliance is set up for natural gas or propane. If the conversion was done by a professional, there should be but not always will be, a sticky label to denote a conversion was made.
The gas inlet manifold may have different styles or types of connection parts but without a visual, no real way for me to determine such. Would need far more details and specifics.
removing one of the top burner orifices and having it checked for hole size will help to determine the current fuel type stove is set up for. May have to take on to the local appliance store and have it sized. Will need to take the BTU rating for the specific burner the orifice was removed from so a comparision can be determined.
