Does anyone have experience with cork flooring? I'm wondering how durable it is - we have cats ( with claws) - and how difficult it is to install and maintain.

It all depends on the type of cork you buy. The thinner squares need a smooth substrate, but the floating planks require alot less and are easier to install.
Cork is more resilient than durable. In other words, dents come out, but it can scratch rather easily.
unless the cat had a fit, I would only worry about larger animals.

not to change the topic much, but what about using cork as an underlayment to laminate?

as long as the manufacturer is o.k. with it, it is great!

I used Torlys Cork plank in our kitchen and guest bathroom and we like it alot. We have 2 dogs 1 cat and the 2 of us..and no problems. Fairly durable..but have noticed some imprints in the floor from the legs of our 2 wooden 'bar' stools at the counter...even with the heavy felt pads on the feet. So that part of the flooring's durability hasnt impressed me! Maybe I should change out the pads for new ones..or double them up .
