I'm currently remodeling my basement (90 year old house) and I'm looking for floor options. Right now the floor is painted with DryLoc water proof paint (there are no moister problems) and I'm wanting to lay ceramic tile down over this. Will the morter bed stick to the current floor or will I need to strip the paint off. The floor has a textured, really rough surface on it now. Thanks for your help.

You would need to grind all the paint off, put since drylok permiates the cement, see how far you need to grind, there's also no telling how thick your slab is or how deep it's sealed being 100 years old. You might also want to use deck mud 1 1/4" thick over the slab. Lota work but perfectly level if done right.
