Does anyone know anything about the dangers of Formaldehyde in plywood products? Is there a product I can use to seal the wood and keep it from emitting dangerous Formaldehyde? Thanks.

Tried doing a websearch on this and got conflicting stories. Some say it leeches out with time and others say a LONG time. Try typing in plywood/formaldahyde in your searchbar and read the different claims. Good luck.

Thanks. I have done that and read the same thing you did. A bit confusing actually. But I cannot find anything on sealing the plywood to eliminate the off-gassing. Any suggestions in this area?

Not sure if even completely sealing it would work. I will be using a latex paint when I install my beadboard but I am not affected by it. I worked in a plant that made Formaldahyde and had no problems. Perhaps one of the other Pros here will have an answer so watch this post.

If you let particle board sit in your shop, you will smell the formaldahide and even more when you cut it.
As mentioned, if that's an issue, go with a plywood veneer substraight.
