I recently installed new baseboard in me entire house (10 zones). I have two zones that when it runs, the baseboard makes a lot of noise. One of the sounds is a squeak. The spots it makes the noise is where the pipe passes through a wall. I checked it and the pipe is clear all the way around the pipe so I don’t know where the squeak is coming from. I tried to stick cardboard behind it but is doesn’t seem to make a difference. I tried to pull the pipe further way from the wall when it was happening and it didn’t make a difference. I also have a problem with a popping noise in the other zone. I originally thought it was thermal expansion of the fins but it has been going on for over a month and it only makes the noise in one spot. To make matters worse the two zones in question are in bedrooms and it scares and wakes my daughter up ever time the heat turns on and she ends up in my bed (she’s 2). Does anybody have any tricks to eliminate, or lessen, the noises I am experiencing.

Thanks
Steve

I was thinking bout putting baseboard heat in my living room and one of the bedrooms. Can you tell me how much would it cost? i have hot water heat currently.

It has to be rubbing a stud or joist some where. Same with the popping one except perhaps that one is at a fitting and resists moving until it can't hold it's position anymore and "pops" loose and returns when heat goes off. Good luck.
