I would like to know if anyone would have any idea, if I could purchase an add on aerator or aeration system to put on my all ready installed 1000 gal. concrete septic tank. I have done some research on the internet, and have found that by adding air bubbles into my septic tank I could increase my bacterial action. The price for replacing 1000 gal. tank and installing a new Jet Aeration tank would cost from $5,000.00 to $6,000.00. Could a person add a motor or pump to add on to my already existing tank to acheive the same results? By the way, my lawn is on a steep grade which causes a wet spot in my yard and is causing an odor. With no room to expand my dainage field lines, I am looking for cheaper alternatives. Thanks for any advice or help.

I think that you would be better off just building up the soil level with sand over the drainfield as the least expensive no-maintenance alternative.
Contact your local Health Department for their recommendations, permit and inspection requirements.
Good luck!

increased bacterial action will not help you, that would only turn the solids to water faster ,so all you would be doing is getting it to the wet spot quicker, maybe ez flow system in a 12" ditch to add on,and cut back water usage
