Hi, I have a problem with an old light fixture in my home. I replaced the burned out bulb with a new 60w chandelier style bulb (the one with the thicker base), and when I turned on the switch the bulb lit up and then went out and smoke filled the inside of the bulb. I also replace all three bulbs in another light fixture on the same switch (also with the 60w bulbs) and it worked fine. Does this sounds like a problem with the bulb or the light fixture? I haven't tried another bulb in the light, I'm afraid to catch something on fire. Thanks

This sounds like a bad bulb to me. Try another one and see how it goes.
