Hi, I've installed Desert Spring whole house humidifier last year and still need to add one standalone humidifier to my basement. Is there any humidifier on the market that can be installed permanently (on the wall), connected only to water supply, (so maintenance will be limited to changing pads)?

All humidifiers I could find require water to filled up on a daily basis.
In another words I'm looking for non-Whole house and non-portable unit...
Thank you.

Does your furnace not heat your basement? I am (maybe wrongfully) that the whole house unit is on your furnace. If so, you should not need an independent unit for the basement. Good luck and post back.

Outside temperature now is about 40F (my heater works about 4-5 hours per day, humidifier is running when fan is on). And humidity inside is below 40% at 73F.
I have one-zone system (basement, 1st and 2nd floor - all one zone - ugly)
I keep basement vents closed most of the time and have 30% at 65F
but I want humidity in the basement to be at least 45%
My house is moderately airtight

Id let the basement vents open here any heat you let out down there goes up to the floor so its no great loss'

No good. Basement will lose 95% of the heat thru the walls and windows. And central Desert Spring unit does not produce enough humidity anyway.
Thank you.
