just put a new honeywell L8148A aquastat on my boiler, now when the boiler comes upto temperature, it shuts off,and within a few minutes it comes back on runs for a minute or so and shuts off, then does it again. and again---. thought it could be the thermostat, replaced that, still does it. any ideas?
What is wrong with that operation? With a call for heat, it is supposed to keep your water temperature within 10 degrees of the high limit setpoint and it sounds like that is what is happening. If the boiler is oversized, the cycles will be very short.

Try adjusting the heat anticipator in the thermostat according to the manufacturers instructions. A slightly higher setting will usually give you a longer burner run time.
