I just purchased a home and decided to take up the carpeting and re-do the hardwood floor. In pulling up the carpeting, we discovered that the hardwood is wonderful, the only problem is, it has patterned spotting (small dark spots) from the old carpet padding (not what we pulled up, but from previous carpeting) over a lot of the floor. Does anyone know of a secret to getting this out without having to sand and start from scratch? The flooring is SO nice except for those spots! :confused:

Any advise would be wonderful! Thanks!
