I bought a dinning set at an antique shop. Needs refinishing, but I noticed some mold / mildew underneath. How do I get rid of it?

Assuming the moldy areas are unfinished, household bleach and a good scrub brush should do the trick. Wipe dry and let air dry completely before doing any refinishing.

Thanks George. I did clean with bleach and water mixture. It still looks like there are white type markings in spots. Do you think I need to scrub more with bleach, or did the bleach just leave marks, and yes, the part I'm doing this to is unfinished. Is anything white and cicular mold / mildew?

Rub the white areas with paint thinner. If they disappear when wet, applying the finish of your choice will eliminate them permanently. If they don't you'll probably have to get a wood bleach (it's stronger) to remove the stains left by the mold/mildew.
