Could I go out and buy some PEX pipe and put it down the existing pipe going into the well. I'm thinking about replacing the line as well as the foot valve and I was thinking with it getting quite late in the year that if I could get away with just putting new pipe down the existing pipe that I might give that a try. Figured I might as well ask first though.

Thanks,

Why do you want to put PEX pipe inside your other pipe? Is something not working? Do you have a leak?

Putting any kind of pipe inside the well pipe will only impede the flow. What you're probably thinking of will ONLY work if the new pipe could be firmly attached to the check valve or foot valve. (and of course you have to pull it up to do that) Unless its really deep, its easy to pull up and fit new pipe.
The bottom line of most problems like this is- Do it properly and it'll last years - Mickey Mouse it and you can guarantee it'll fail in midwinter !
