Remove iron and manganese

Two questions:

1. What would be the best filter for removing iron and manganese that is also readily available.

2. Can it be put in line before the pump. I'm looking to try to keep everything clean versus just the final delivery only.

There are many means of treating iron and manganese, so the choice is dictated on your water specifics and volume of use and what and how much of it is in the water.

You never put anything between a pump and its pressure switch that can block up. Doing so is not needed and is a very bad idea because if there's a blockage, you ruin plumbing and maybe drop a pump down a well.
