I was wondering how this is typically handled -
I have a boxed staircase with hardwood treads. The last upper hallway stair landing is also boxed and will have a hardwood nosing. At that point I go to carpet.
Is it typical in this situation to just have a nosing on the landing and then a reducer to carpet or should I have a few flooring strips before transistion to carpet? I'm thinking that I might want to have approximately a tread width of hardwood flooring + nosing before going to carpet.
Also, as far as the carpet termination, a Z bar is recommended over a tack strip in this situation correct?
Is this something I can find at the orange store or should I call a carpet guy to do this?
Finally, how are 4'x4' hardwood flooring landings usually sanded? With the edger?
Thanks
