my furnace model number is NUGI075DF01,it cycles on and of until it gets to temperature every 15 to 30 seconds.the fan limiter looks like its sticking and squeeking.should it turn smooth? :confused:

Can you tell if it's the burners that are cycling on/off, or just the blower, or both ??

The fan limit if you watch them turn as they heat up and cool down sometimes they will be a little jerky. They are a cheap replacement though if it's in question.

both fan and burners are on and when it cycles on and off every 15 to 30 seconds its the fan thats cut on and off.

does sound like the limit, possibly. if it is a dial type fan/limit, it may be set improperly. it should turn smoothly

it is adial fan/limit and it seems to be sticking.will it have to be replaced?
also what thermostat and air filter is best for this furnace?

So the fan is kicking on and off while the burner stays lit?

Like I said the limit switch is cheap but 1st jump the limit out temporarily and see if it still cuts in and out or not.

yes the burner stays lit but the fan cycles on and off every ten seconds till the house heats to where the thermostat is set.when you say jump the limit out temporarily do you mean bypass the thermostat?

Not the t-stat, the fan limit. If you are not into electrical much don't bother. Do you have a volt meter to see if you are loosing electric to the fan motor.

What I'm getting at is it's possible the fan motor could be going south and with a volt meter you could watch the voltage drop off if the fan switch is what's opening.
