I have a two story colonial that is 17 yrs old. I want to replace the unfaced fiberglass (R19) insulation in the basement ceiling that I am planning on replacing with Ultra Touch Bonded Logic (http://www.bondedlogic.com) (too many fibers getting knocked loose and floating around).
Two questions:
1 Opinion on using removed (unfaced) batts over the family room to boost insulation HOWEVER that is over existing blown in cellulose? Does that cause any issues I may regret?
2 If I want an insulation contractor to add to the insulation over the main protion of the house (likely R38), could they suck up what's over the Family Room and blow that in? (I have enough batts from the basement for three layers of R19 over the FR)
Thanks

1. You can lay the unfaced insulation over cellulose.
2. I don't know any contractor that would remove insulation and install it for you somewhere else in the house. They would more than likely just want to add more insulation.
