I'm presently rough framing in a bathroom in my basement and I'm wondering how much space to allow for a standard fiberglass shower insert? I'm looking to put in a standard 60" shower/tub and I don't know how much extra space to allow for the installation, is there a standard rule of thumb? Or does anyone know of a website that provides this type of information? Thanks in advance...

Best idea is to call or visit a local home center or supply house and look at the models available that you like. See what it calls for. How big an entrance do you have for your basement? Usually when I see builders using that one piece deals they set them on the slab and then frame the house around them.

Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones, I have a walkout so I think I can still squeeze in a 1-piece, the hallway might be tight though, so thanks for the insight. I'll definitely take that into consideration.

Frame the stall at 60 1/4" you could frame it at the exact length but it will sit tight.
