I live in Southern California and have a slab foundation with a very high water content. I am preparing the floors for an engineered wood floor. I am taking many precautions to protect the new floors. Sealing the concrete, gluing down a congoleum underlayment, then using Bestik BST glue to put down the wood. I am not taking any chances. Nor, am I about to skimp because it is difficult work! I have finished one room and it is beautiful!
I have removed most of the tile that was our previous floor. Along one whole side of the house all the old mortar has changed color and very wet. This affects about 2 feet into the house. I even found some roots under the tile. I am thinking that I need to dig along the outside of the house and seal the foundation.
With what do I seal the foundation? Henry's?
Thanks,
Michelle
