I have a finished basement apartment in a townhouse. The noise from downstairs travels upstairs and vice versa. I would like to cut some holes in the basement ceiling drywall and blow in insulation to provide some soundproofing. My local rental has a machine to blow in lose insulation. Any problems with this plan? Thanks /cee

There should not be a problem with what you want to do. You just have to be careful with any lighting fixtures that might be located in the ceiling and it would be nice if you can see up there to make sure there isn't any open or missing covers on junction boxes.
