Both door sweeps and door bottoms seal the gap at the bottom of a door from drafts, noise, dirt, rain, snow, and pests. There are two types of door sweeps: standard and automatic (the latter is used when interior carpeting may interfere with the standard sweep).

There are also two types of door bottoms: L-shaped and U-shaped. Door bottoms offer added protection for the bottom of the door.
