I have a MK 370 saw that will cut 12 inch tiles, however, the sliding table is not long enough for the 18 inch tiles. The saw can be removed from the sliding table and could be used free-hand. Is there a better way to cut these larger tiles on this saw?

Thanks for any advice.

With tiles too large for the deck, you can draw your cut line allthe way across the tile using a speed square for straight 45 and 90 deg. cuts or a bevel square for any off angle cuts, lay the tile so that it hangs over the back of the slideng tray and cut in a few inches, back the tray and slide your tile over the blade until it rests entirely on the tray and then slide the tray through to finish the cut.

Or go to the pawn shop and buy a cheap angle grinder.

Go buy a dry cut 4" diamond blade(Harbor Freight Tools, $4)

Mount the blade on the angle grinder.

It does take practice to be steady and smooth, but I can make cuts just as clean and straight as my table saw. You can sprinkle the tile with a spray bottle, too(your helper). Keeps the dust down.
