I have a Carrier downflow gas-fired natural draft furnace (approx 1988 model number 58DP) that I wrote to you about previously. The problem that I was having was the blower on my furnace running constantly. It was coming on immediately with the burners and would not shut off after heating the house. I followed your advise to find and evaluate the sensors and then had a friend who is familar with heating systems take a look at it. He used an electrical tester and determined that all of my sensors were working properly. He felt that the large clear relay (HFR) was sticking and he demonstrated that by hitting the side of the furnace after which the blower would shut off. You could see the relay react to the hit. I replaced the old printed circuit board (#HH84AA013) with a new one that has newer solid state relays. I bought an ICM271C which says it is a direct replacement for the model number above. I am 100% sure that all wires went back to the proper terminals. I labled all the wires and took digital before and after pictures. I turned the furnace on after replacing the board and the flames ignited as they should. The blower did not come on right away as it had with the old board. That was a good sign. After about 90 seconds though, I got worried because the blower had still not come on. fearing that it would get to hot, I went to turn the power off and just before I touched the switch, the flames extinguished and the blower kicked on. It filled the house with a burning smell so I immediately turned the power off to the unit. Any ideas what my new problem might be?

I don't know where you bought the board from but it sounds like you got a bad one.
