I have a situation where I need to make room for a harwood floor reducer so I really need to cut back the floor tile in a doorway about 2". These tile are over slab. I only need to cut about 3' or so. Doesn't matter what the edge looks like since it will be coverd with a reducer.

Can this be done with one of those hand held diamond saws?

Thanks

Try a diamond wheel in an angle grinder, should do the trick. Have a helper hold a shop vac nest to the work area because there will be lots of dust. Pre dilling the corners with a tile bit may help to encourage a friendly break along the blade kerf to square our the corners.
