I have just been given a diplomat oven, when I attempted to use it the oven lit, however, there was no control to adjust the temperature of the oven and also no heat. I was wondering if you would be able to suggest what the problem could be?

Hello rhian2607 and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances topic.
I'm confused......
If the oven lit, there should be heat. In order to turn the oven on, there should be a thermostat. Same thermostat should than control the temperature.
Not sure what you mean by oven lit
Kindly clarify and add more details.
If the oven lit, why is there no heat?
Kindly explain in more specific details.
Retail parts dealers and appliances parts stores can also help determine what the possible problem may be based upon that specific brand and model. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers and appliances parts stores are listed in the phone book.

in response to your question. When the oven is turned on it lights using the electronic ignition, however, there is no heat and no control for the temperature. Could it be a problem with the thermocouple?
