Hi folks,
I got a call at work today that my water pump at home (1 1/2 hours away) was "shooting water everywhere". It turns out that, I suspect, a piece of scale blocked the hose to the pressure switch and the pump just kept building up pressure, stressing out everything, including me!
It seems the pump is back to normal now but I have noticed a LOT of scale and sediment in the water. I've run the bath tub a couple of times with the drain plug in to see how much scale there is. Quite a bit more than I've ever seen before. I'm concerned about another episode of the pump not shutting off.
My question is, could this scale problem be caused by the heavy rain we've been getting or is this symptomatic of a bigger problem?
My well head is 6 feet below ground level and the well is approx. 70 feet deep. Its approx. 20 years old and we replaced the pump, ejector nozzle and foot valve 7 years ago.
Thanks
