Doors and Windows - Simonton Windows

Live in San Jose, California. Simonton Rep presented us with his best as to why we should install the Simonton window in our home. 2 sales points were the "Super Spacer" and their "Double Re-enforced frame.

The show was quite log and we forgot to ask about the window ratings our the glass thickness. Althought the estimate was very competitive we will do our homework before we make any decesion.

Any insight on this window brand will be appreciated.

Simington's are GOOD windows. They aren't GREAT windows, but they aren't junk by any means. They are middle of the road. I would put them about the same class as Alside, Milgard, etc. One step up would be brands like EPI, Amerimax, ... A LOT of steps up would be Marvin, Anderson, Sierra Pacific, ... (That's a lot of steps up in dollars, TOO!!)

"Althought the estimate was very competitive..." you're doing your homework and getting several bids -- that's a good thing.

You can ALWAYS call the rep back and ask the questions you forgot to get the answers to last time.
