I have outdoor furniture made Yellow Balau and Kempas. Will this wood hold-up in the outdoors?
Thank You

JH:

Yellow Balau is a hardwood native to Indonesia and the Phillipines. It is normally used for patio decks, telephone oles, etc., and is extremely resistant to degredation by weather - yes it will certainly hold up. Can't guarantee the color will, though.

Kempas is also a native of Malaysia and Indonesia. It is resistant to fungo and decay, although susceptible to termites. I don't think you have a great deal to worry about from a mechanical standpoint as far as outdoor furniture made from these woods.
