I recently remodeled my living area and I am having trouble with color selection. The walls (which are 18ft) are painted a neutral beige and the trim is white. The light fixtures are chrome and nikel plated]. I also installed hard wood floors. The room seems very cold right now because there are no curtains, no wall hangings NOTHING!! I was considering a burgandyor cranberry color with but I'm not sure how that will look.

burgundy will look fine. it'll be dark compared to what you've grown used to. it'll bring in the walls & make the room seem cozier (ie smaller). it may or may not clash with your wood floors, which are what - oak? cherry?

your room seems cold because it's beige & white & empty with hardwood floors (bet it ECHOS, too, huh?). you need color and furnishings and area rugs to warm it up & fill it up. don't be so quick to just paint all the walls a dark color. instead, please see my new Stickie at the top of this forum for tips on how (and WHEN) to decide on paint color for rooms being newly decorated.

good luck! :)

I will recomend the webpage that I recommend to everyone who needs color palette advices, colourlovers.com.

It has a LOT of palletes to chose from, it helps me a lot sometimes!

Sure, they're not usual colors sometimes, but is just inspirational. :blah:
