My contactor went bad. I went to a local store and bought a two pole contactor to replace my single pole contactor and I am having some problems wiring it.
I connected the power and capacitor exactly the same way as before.
I am having some problems with the thermostat wiring. My old contactor only had two spade connections on the same side. The brown wire was on top and the blue wire on the bottom.
My new contactor has two connections on each side. How do I connect the brown and blue wire?
Every way I have tried results in the LED on my Brant unti flashing a code 24. According to the label a code 24 is:
24 Secondary Voltage Fuse is Open
check for: Short circuit in secondary voltage (24V) wiring.
Have I broken something else?

kdonnel,
The controller is telling you that the control cct fuse is blown.
Either the fuse was the original problem, the old contactor shorted and blew the fuse or you connected the new contactor wrong.
What was the problem with the old contactor?
Did you mark the wires before you removed them?

I misconnected the new contactor....shorted it.
I have replaced the fuse and correctly connected the contactor and all seems to work.
