I'm remodeling my master bath and changing everything except for the ivory colored fiberglass tub/shower. I'm going with maple cabinets in a chesnut finish and I'm leaning heavily towards a black silestone or granite top. Not sure if I should go with ivory or white (or something else) for the sink and toilet. I hate ivory, I think white might look "funny" with a black top. Any recommendations/thoughts would be welcome.

how are you planning on decorating the bathroom when it's done? painted walls or patterned wallpaper or what? because i'm thinking if you get some pattern in there, the white/ivory situation won't be as noticeable as if you just painted a solid color. however, i think all the fixtures should match, so i vote ivory sink & toity. a white sink & toilet will leave the ivory shower looking out of place, and dingy by comparison. and then after a while, you'll grow to hate that shower more & more and start kicking yourself for not changing it out to white when you had the chance.

is the black counter just solid black or are there veins or speckles of a lighter white or cream? and how are you going to integrate the black? black towels & accessories or what?

I planned on painting the walls, not sure what color just yet, but will be on the lighter side. I've decided on a maple cabinet with a Hazelnut finish. I'm very much liking the look of the Silestone black which has "chips" of mica in it. My taste leans toward modern/ultra-modern.

then i'd definitely go all ivory or all white. you don't want the distraction of mismatched fixtures to ruin the look.
