I am about to replace my existing windows with Vinyl replacements and was thinking about wrapping the exterior trim. 1)Is wrapping recommened? 2) Is it done prior to the window being installed or after? (should the wrap sit between the window and the wall framing or should it just be up to the exerior window frame)

Hope this makes sense. THanks

hi
do you mean caping the outside wood trim with aluminium from your old window to the new one?
if so yes cap them.
less maintance no painting just caulk the trim with a good outdoor sealant

cheers

There are ways to wrap windows that hide all the caulk, or at least most of it[tabs cut and bent at the corners and caulked before theover lapping piece is applied]. It will be a very short time before your windows are full of dirty looking caulk. A word to the wise "the less caulk showing the better". Especially at ground level. Obviously the windows need to be watertight.
