I have 4 AC guys giving me different quotes on 4 different products... I was wondering if any of you would recommend these based on your experiences... I'm looking at a 16seer/Variable stage Furnace system. These all good on paper.
1. YORK AC/Furnace
2. Carrier AC/Furnace
3. Bryant AC/Furnace
4. Trane AC/Furnace (Homedepot carries these)
Thanks

Id have to say Trane go for that new XL16i .Will give you a seer of 17.15. If you do it all you get a 10 year warranty on it
You got 4 bid here thats the way to go. One more thing the guy thats company has been there for the longest time . Is the one to go with for what they sell. They know the units and how to fix it and will have parts if you need them
ED ;)

One more thing (my 2 cents worth). If you buy it at Home Depot and go with one of their installers, be sure you know what the procedure is for servicing and repair on the install itself. I am reading too many problems that people have and are told by HD to contact the installer. My thinking is that if I pay HD for the install then THEY should contact the installer.May just save you a headache. Good luck

HD tells me to contact the installer/dealer... They don't really back anything... it's between me and the dealer... HD just gives me a number to call...
my best bid is from YORK.... I am wondering if anybody has anything for/against them..
Thanks

As for York I don't like them either. If you go with Trane don't go through HD. Use a local Trane dealer and leave the middle man out.

I would suggest Trane.. We're getting a new one put in this week, so I am looking foward for the quiet variable speed blower, and I can run the blower all times now. :-)
As for A/C SEER, depends on where you are at.. same with the furncace AFU.

Thanks for the reply guys.
It's about 95% done. PVC will be used for the drain for both units. Right now I just had the clear hose used for the drain so I can have heat this weekend. I aways hated the use of garden hose in the A/C!
They (HiMec, Installer for Home Depot) will come back on Monday to wrap up the A/C. We had a threat of bad weather, so they couldn't pump down the our door unit, and it was getting dark out.
