I have several windows to trim in a bonus room. I went to the big orange box to buy the trim today and couldn't find window sill/stool material. Is a typical window sill just 1X stock. After looking at the trim on the windows in the house I'm guessing I could use 1X stock and a 1/2" round over bit in the router.

Is window sill material sold as such or is it made by the finish carpenter?

Get out of the big orange box and go to a real lumber yard and you'll probably find it. They may stock it, but might have to order it for you. Not a big thing -- should have it in a few days if they do.

The other option is to make your own. Router or shaper -- whatever you have access to -- and whatever detail you want on the edge.
