Need some expert advice. I need to know where is the water pump on 1987 OMC cobra I/O(Ford 2.3). Is it on front( by engine) or by Stern drive in upper unit???

The water pump for a 2.3 l. is located in the omc cobra upper gear case under plastic held down with 3 bolts look at drawing on this link for part numbers ect http://www.sterndrive.info/id26.html hope this helps you Wayne.
ps note there are 2 sizes for the 2.3 water impeller by purchasing the kit you can change over to the larger one if you have cooling problems.
