What cleaners are best for aluminum tracks of sliding doors? Serious deposits, graying, etc.

You might try a cleaner for aluminium wheels from a automotive store. Make sure its for unsealed wheels though. You could also try a product called Mean Green sold at your local dollar store for around $5/gal. Mix it according to directions and use a tooth brush to get to the tight places.

If tracks are not kept clean and free of debris, this tends to shorten the life of the rollers on doors. Use vacuum crevice tool to remove loose debris. Spray all purpose cleaner into tracks and let set to loosen soil. Use old tooth brush to scrub tracks. A toothpick can be used to dislodge debris stuck in corners. Cleaning tracks is easier if you remove sliding screen. Spray tracks with silicone or teflon spray and rub with superfine steel wool to lubricate. Clean bottom of screen and roller and spray roller with silicone.
